Zadar is found in the heart of Dalmatia, situated within the county of Zadarka. This city together with all of its elegance is famous for its mythical ruins and great histological design. Zadar is a small city besieged by five National Parks namely Plityice Lakes, North Velebit, Krka waterfalls, Paklenica and Kornati.
Zadar is a Croatian city found between Rijeka and Split, not far away from Sibenik. It's a few thousand years old city which was the capital city of Dalmatia for many centuries. The Zadar peninsula still preserves very old network of narrow and charming city streets, as well as a Roman forum all the way back to the first century Ad. The pre-Romanesque Church of St. Donat goes back to the ninth century, and it's certainly Zadar's most famed spot.
Zadar is also celebrated for having the fascinating Romanesque churches : Cathedral of St. Anastasia from 13th century and Church of St. Chrysogonus from 12th century as well as the church tower of St. Mary dating back from 12 th century too. The city is fortified with medieval walls, distinguished for their pretty and electrifying ports entries in the city all all the way back to the sixteenth century.
Throughout history, Zadar was the centre of key Croatian and Dalmatian cultural events : the establishment of the first Croatian university (1396), the writing of the first Croatian novel (1536) and the publication of the first Croatian newspaper. The famous permanent exhibition of sacral art and the conventional St. Donat Musical Evenings represent only a small part of many cultural events that Zadar offers to its visitors.
Zadar's favourable location allows travellers to visit and explore neighbouring islands. If you want to go to other towns in the area, you can hop on a bus or get on a boat and within 1 to 2 hours you can already reach your destination. The inhabitants of this city will welcome guests with such dignified hospitality that will instantaneously make new comers feel comfortable. A Zadar automobile rental will let you experience more gladness in this place than you have imagined.
Taking a tour in Zadar, one can't fail to like the wonderful stronghold that encompasses the Zadar. These towering walls enclose this gorgeous city in 3 sides. These walls were first built by Venetians during the 16th Century.
Under the protection of these defensive walls, the inhabitants of this old city were protected against the Turks. Observing the mythical walls, one can notice the oldest part of it is found on the eastern side where a bridge is built connecting the old city to other more recent parts of the city.
From the opposing side of the bridge one can find the brilliance of four medieval gates. You may be in this place and be well placed to explore this more with a Zadar Rent-a-Car. Although Zadar is known for its awe-inspiring ruins and historical landscape, overtime the former old city has re-established itself as new cafes and bars appeared and continued to fill the place with jovial and plentiful locals enjoy the warm and sunny afternoons by the street. Even old churches were rebuilt.
Tourists from different countries and even on neighbouring towns visit this latest city because even though diverse revisions and renovations were made to stay alongside of modern times, the history of Zadar still reflected and emanates from the remains and ruins this city is made of. Make this dream travel become real with a cheap vehicle hire, writes tagza.com.

Bad Bad One $7.34 On her Gold Circle Records debut album Bad Bad One, singer-songwriter Meredith Brooks immerses listeners in resonant waves of pop and soul-steeped rock 'n' roll. Featuring twelve diverse original compositions, the new album finds Meredith reinventing herself while retaining the engaging musical sensibilities that have made her one of contemporary pop's most acclaimed performers. Ever since she exploded on the scene with her multi-platinum 1997 debut album Blurring The Edges and the worldwide hit single Bitch, Meredith has earned the praise of the music industry's toughest critics. Indeed, she ranks among a handful of female guitarists to grace the cover of the trade magazine Guitar Player. Never one to rest on her laurels, Meredith ups the creative ante on Bad Bad One. She wrote or co-wrote all twelve songs and produced the album with David Darling. Taking hands-on creativity to new levels, Meredith engineered, edited and programmed much of the album, in addition to playing all rhythm and lead guitars. The result is a lovingly rendered self-portrait that reveals previously unknown aspects of Meredith's musical character. For her part, Meredith describes Bad Bad One as unafraid --a reference to the fearless creativity that fuels her new recording. |
